Dakota Abstract and Title Company, Inc. is a locally owned and operated company which was formed, and had its Abstract Plant built and licensed in 1980, with the purposes of Abstracting Real Estate Titles and operating as a Title Insurance Agent in Brookings County, South Dakota. Michael P. Reisetter is the owner of the Company, and has been its President since it formed in 1980. Michael’s son, Joshua M. Reisetter, joined Dakota Abstract and Title Company, Inc. in September of 2003 and now serves as its Secretary / Treasurer.

In 1981 Dakota Abstract and Title Company, Inc. purchased Brookings County Abstract Company, which dated back to 1908, and was the only other Licensed Abstract Company in Brookings County. Also, in 1981, our staff consisted of only three full time and one part time staff members – Today, we employee 13 full time and two part time staff members.
